I cannot recommend renting from this host based on my experience.
I booked this vehicle after my flight was significantly delayed because I urgently needed transportation upon arrival. The host initially accepted the reservation, but several hours later sent a message asking if I would be okay receiving the car “as is” because it had just come off another trip and wouldn’t have time to be cleaned.
Unfortunately, I was in the air at the time and didn’t see the message until around 10:00 p.m. I completely understand that my response was delayed because of travel. However, once I replied, I sent several follow-up messages and even a text message, and I never received any response.
Because the host never completed the license verification or provided pickup instructions, I was left stranded late at night without a vehicle, despite having already been charged for the trip. The reservation ultimately showed as completed even though I never received the car or had the opportunity to start the rental.
I understand that unexpected situations happen, and I recognize that my delayed response may have made it difficult to move forward with the reservation. Even so, I would have expected some acknowledgment—an apology for not being able to fulfill the reservation, a response explaining the situation, or at the very least some effort to help initiate a refund. Instead, there was complete silence.
Communication is one of the most important parts of hosting. Had the host simply responded or canceled the reservation, I could have made other arrangements. Instead, I was left without transportation in the middle of the night and had to spend valuable time trying to resolve the situation with Turo. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend this host.
