Car was great for Maui. Survived the road to Hāna. Excellent on gas which is a bonus with these gas prices. Would rent again.

The car was easy to find. Just had to take a cab from the airport about 2 minutes from the airport. Not a big deal. The car worked great for the whole trip. No problems. AC was nice and cold. The car was comfortable and drove well for the whole week.

Very hard to find the keys when we arrived. The Turo description of parking lot location. “west lot” DID NOT even come close to the transfer trolly description of the lot- did not match at all. the trolly Never said anything about a “west lot” and we had to ride to the end of the trolly line, dismount, reboard and the just exited the transit trolly at the ply stop possible -not even close to describing a “west lo!” After exiting the trolly, we looked for at least 30 minutes in the pouring rain. A Turo representative finally arrived and showed us where the key was located and the verbal description we were given did not match the location. We had to pay to get out of parking lot - $15. A cost we were not aware of. We drove about 15 miles to our resort. About 3 miles from resort the tire pressure light on dashboard blinked then was steady light. Then we had a side walk blow out. We made it to resort. I think that a blowout is owner responsibility. But Gary said we must have hit something, and we told him we DIDN’T!! Day 2 we had AAA come out to put the spare on. Then the only place on the island on Sunday was Walmart to get a new tire. Back near airport. We paid $115 for a new tire, and went back to resort. Our communication with owner was very tense and definitely put a damper on the start of our trip. Owner was VERY RUDE to the representative at Walmart that helped us tremendously through the process. “Sheila” told us the tire was defective and the side wall had blown out! The whole trip the tire pressure monitor light would come on and off: even after having new tire added, tires inflated to correct p pressure and tires rotated, the low pressure light came on EVERY DAY thereafter. We’d check the tires and they were fine. The owner was supposed to meet us at the airport at 7 am today, 2/28, for us to hand over the car. We waited for 20 minutes for him to arrive and he did not! We left at 0722 hr to catch our flight! We tried calling and texting and no response. We left the keys in a designated spot similar to where he left them for us. We texted pictures of where the keys were. Still no response. It’s 90 minutes now since he was supposed to meet us for hand off and we have not heard from him. The passenger’s right front seatbelt was impossible to remove after clicking in place-requiring at least 4-5 attempts to remove EVERY TIME!
Because of our VERlY POOR experience with this Turo rental, we have now cancelled all of our future reservations. We were great Turo fans before this rental but we will NEVER do business with Turo again-EVER!
