This 2018 BMW 530i is exactly the kind of big-body BMW energy people fall in love with. It’s supple, crisp, quick, and unbelievably quiet on the highway. The car absolutely devoured nearly 1,100 miles of road trip driving without a single hiccup.
It smelled good, looked even better, and honestly this thing gives serious face everywhere it goes. I’ve owned an older 5 Series before, so I already knew these cars are built for road trips — and this one proved it all over again.
That said, it’s not just a highway cruiser. Even on a short trip, this car still makes you feel like you arrived. It’s been very well maintained and drove phenomenally the entire time. Even with the smaller 4-cylinder engine, you’ve still got around 250 horsepower and nearly as much torque, and man… this thing will pass anything without drama.
Best part? It still averaged about 29 MPG while cruising 75–80 most of the trip. That’s seriously impressive for a car this comfortable and refined.
The owner was prompt, polite, and easy to work with. Their only asks were to fill the car back up where you got it and run it through the free car wash at Luvs across the street — super easy.
Would absolutely rent again… although after this experience I’m honestly tempted to just go buy a 530i myself 😅
