Overall, this rental was just okay, but I wouldn’t book it again.
The host was responsive and accommodating throughout the process, which I appreciated. However, the vehicle itself had over 170,000 miles and showed its age. It shook noticeably when braking hard (likely needing new rotors), and there were light stains throughout the interior. The brakes felt safe, just worn, which tracked with the overall condition of the car. For the price we paid, it didn’t feel like great value.
When I originally booked, I accidentally selected an off site pickup location about 10 minutes from LAX. That was my mistake. However, when the host messaged me, I was told the car was actually located in Irvine, parked on the side of the road with the key in the glovebox. That was unexpected.
Since I was flying into LAX, I updated the reservation and paid an additional $200 for airport pickup.
After landing, I was instructed to take a shuttle to a hotel, then navigate to a parking structure and locate the car myself. For return, I was told to bring it back to the hotel and take the shuttle to the airport. I was also instructed to leave the car parked with the key in the glovebox again. While this may be convenient logistically, it did not feel like traditional airport parking, especially after paying the additional $200 for the service.
Nothing about the trip was catastrophic, and the host was accommodating, but between the vehicle’s condition and the airport logistics, it did not feel like strong value for the total cost. In hindsight, I likely would have saved time and money using a traditional rental company.

The guest booked the wrong pickup location and I told her she would have to change the location last minute to get LAX she was charged $120 and was upset about the situation. The car is in great working condition and very clean.
Good communicator, small trunk but overall drives great!

The interior was detailed before he got it. The windshield was cleaned at the gas station before he received the vehicle.
Vehicle was as described it would be.
Interior has a bit of wear of tear, but it handled and drove perfectly for us.
