The car itself was enjoyable to drive, powerful, comfortable, and exactly as advertised. Unfortunately, my experience with the host was one of the most stressful rental experiences I have had.

Shortly after the trip started, I was contacted by the host and told that driving more than 200 miles per day was not acceptable. I could not find any such restriction anywhere in the listing, rental agreement, or trip terms that I had agreed to before booking. If there are limits regarding daily mileage, driving radius, or acceptable trip distance, those expectations should be clearly disclosed before a guest books the vehicle, not introduced after the trip has already begun.

I was also accused of "abusing" the vehicle for what was simply a normal road trip. This rental took place in Southern California and Arizona, where long driving distances are common. I was operating the vehicle within the mileage structure offered in the listing and was surprised to be criticized for using the car for its intended purpose.

Another issue was the use of GPS tracking. I understand that tracking devices may be installed for security and theft prevention purposes. However, during the trip it felt as though my movements were being actively monitored and questioned, which created an uncomfortable feeling of being watched rather than simply enjoying a rental vehicle.

The most serious issue involved mileage charges. During the trip, I was repeatedly pressured to purchase an Unlimited Mileage upgrade after the rental had already started, despite the fact that the listing already contained a published charge for additional miles. This eventually led to multiple billing disputes, phone calls, emails, and escalations with Turo.

After reviewing the case, Turo ultimately determined that a $300 Unlimited Mileage charge was unfounded because I had never provided consent for that upgrade, and the charge was removed. While I paid the standard excess-mileage fees that were part of the original rental terms, I spent several days dealing with a dispute that should never have existed in the first place.

Communication became increasingly confrontational whenever I questioned these charges or asked for clarification. What should have been a straightforward rental became an ongoing discussion about mileage limits, GPS monitoring, additional charges, and rules that were never clearly disclosed before the trip began.

For completeness, I returned the vehicle fully refueled, cleaned inside and out, documented with extensive photographs, and completed the checkout process exactly as requested.

The car itself was great. Unfortunately, the overall experience was dominated by stress, disputes, changing expectations after booking, and unnecessary billing issues.

Based on my experience, I do not recommend renting with this host.
