Cool car, good value.

I’m giving one star because the car is cute. The 2nd day I had the car, the check engine light came on. I messaged the host asking what he wanted to do. He then sent me a screenshot of things to check when the check engine light comes on. Told him I’m not a mechanic and wasn’t comfortable looking under the hood (not my responsibility as the renter). Then he said I would need to bring the car back so he could take it to a mechanic. Asked for another car to look at. The next car had a review from July 2025 with a dead battery and tire damage. Then he sent me a link to all his vehicles. Picked a Jeep and asked for a swap. He said swap was not going to work as they had rentals before my return date. Then I asked to return the car and get a refund. By this point I had called Turo customer service as I was frustrated. Customer service told me to return the car to the same location that I picked it up. Took it back and asked the host to remote in and lock it (that was how I picked it up). He would not respond. All he would say is that he didn’t authorize me to leave the car there. All of this was documented in the Turo app, so customer service could see it. They tried reaching out to the host and he did not respond. Eventually I told the host I was going to mail him the key (since he would not remote in and lock the car). If I left the key in the car I could not lock it. By the way this car has 99k miles on it. I did get my refund for this rental. It was my first and last time I will be renting from Turo. Worst experience ever. Be careful when renting. You don’t know what you are getting.
