The pickup and return process was convenient, and the car got me through the trip. However, shortly after pickup I began receiving an intermittent “Steering Power Low – See a Dealer” warning while driving, especially on the freeway. I also noticed a strong cigarette/smoke odor inside the vehicle. On the final morning, the tire-pressure warning came on; an auto shop checked the tires and found no flat, but advised that two rear TPMS sensors were not functioning properly.
My biggest concern was communication. I reported the steering warning to the host and followed up several times, but did not receive a response for more than 24 hours. Because I was waiting for guidance and did not feel comfortable continuing to use the vehicle normally, I had to borrow a friend’s car to get around locally during part of the trip. I ultimately contacted Turo Support for guidance before returning the vehicle. The host did eventually respond before the return.
I’m glad the trip ended safely, but the vehicle maintenance and responsiveness need improvement.
