Understanding the Power Host program requirements

Hosts qualify for Power Host status if they meet the following requirements:*

  • Continue to meet All-Star Host status

Learn about the requirements to become an All-Star Host.

  • Have had at least four vehicles on Turo that have each had at least one completed trip during the past 365 days. The vehicles don’t all have to be listed at the same time.**

  • Earn $36,000+ during the past 365 days

Power Host status is reevaluated quarterly and you can track your performance in the “Performance” tab.

*Turo reserves the right to revise Power Host requirements at our sole discretion.
**For example, imagine a host has a Toyota and Ford listed on Turo. Then they add a Honda, unlist the Ford, and add a Lexus. They would meet the four+ vehicles requirement as long as each vehicle has completed at least one trip during the past 365 days.

How to help optimize your listing

Top tips to help your vehicle listings stand out and attract more guests to help become a Power Host

  • Turn on Book Instantly so guests can book trips without you needing to manually approve the trip request.

  • Write a listing description that’s at least 700 characters long, telling guests what makes your vehicle special and what you’re like as a host.

  • Keep your calendar and settings up to date so guests only book your vehicles when they’re available and you’re available to host.

  • Offer excellent customer service and keep your vehicle rating above 4.5 stars.

  • Fulfill trips, avoid declining trips, or letting trip requests expire, and don’t cancel on guests.

Track your expenses

  • Keep track of what you’re spending so you know your operating expenses and how much you’re earning.

  • Be prepared for expected and unexpected expenses.

  • Know what expenses count as tax write-offs and keep a record of everything.

Open a business bank account

Many successful hosts choose to open a special bank account for their business on Turo. This can be a good idea because:

  • Establishing a track record of credit history can help open the door for a line of credit.

  • Business banking helps keep your business funds separate from your personal funds.

  • You can qualify for small business loans and business credit cards.

Form a business entity

Consider registering as a business (LLC, Corporation, Partnership, Sole Proprietorship). Benefits to forming a business entity include:

  • Separating your personal assets from your business assets

  • Being able to register vehicles under your business can help build credit under your business entity which can help you get larger lines of credit or financing

  • Making it easier to file your taxes
