The One Big Beautiful Bill brought the IRS threshold for receiving a 1099-K tax form in 2025 back to $20,000 and 200 transactions from the previous threshold of $600 for anyone selling goods or services through third-party platforms like Turo.
Whether or not you qualify for a 1099-K, all US Turo hosts must submit their tax information to Turo.

How to access your tax info
Visit your Turo account and navigate to the “Tax information” page to view a detailed breakdown of your earnings, tax forms, and definitions of key terms.1099-K tax forms will be available on this page by January 31, 2026. Turo will email you to let you know when yours is ready.
You’ll only receive a 1099-K for 2025 if you had more than 200 transactions during the year and:1. Earned more than $20,000 in gross earnings, or;2. Reside in a state that has a lower qualifying threshold, including Arkansas ($2,500+), District of Columbia ($600+), Illinois ($1,000+ and 4 transactions), Maryland, ($600+), Massachusetts ($600), Montana ($600+), New Jersey ($1,000+), Vermont, ($600+), and Virginia ($600+).
On your 1099-K, the IRS requires the reporting of unadjusted gross sales (what we’re calling “gross earnings”), defined as transactions without adjustments for credits, fees, reimbursements, or any other amounts.
In other words, the “gross earnings” value, reported on your “Tax information” page, is the total amount of the transactions processed by Turo and hasn’t been reduced by Turo fees, plus any other payment received from Turo (i.e. host incentives). So the gross earnings reported in your 1099-K will exceed the total amount you received from Turo.
Your gross earnings should match the value in box 1a on your 1099-K.
You can access a breakdown of your annual earnings on your "Tax information" page. On your “Transaction history” page, you can obtain specific transaction details from the receipts from your individual trips or download your entire transaction history.
Gross earnings include trip earnings, Turo fees, host incentives, and host fees, but doesn’t include reimbursements or sales tax.
On the other hand, your earnings chart shows your trip earnings after sales tax, host incentives, and reimbursements, but doesn’t include Turo fees or host fees.
The gross earnings value is only used for tax reporting purposes.
If the name, address, or TIN is incorrect on your 1099-K, please contact Turo Customer Support by selecting the “Contact us” button in the bottom right corner of the Turo Help Center.
If you made an error and want to update your tax information for this 1099-K, select the “Contact us” button in the bottom right corner of the Turo Help Center.
To update your information going forward, log into your Turo account and you’ll find a link to your tax information in the “Resources” section of your “Earnings” page. If your host account is closed, or you have deleted all your vehicles, Turo customer support can provide you with a link to submit your tax information.
For help submitting your tax information to Turo, see this help article.
If you earned income with Turo in 2025, you should submit your tax information by December 31, 2025. We recommend submitting your tax information as soon as you sign up to host on Turo.
If you don’t submit your tax information, Turo may pause your payments until you do.
If you miss the deadline, you won’t receive a 1099-K, but you can use your "Tax information" page to support your tax reporting obligations. Please talk to your licensed tax professional for any and all tax advice.
