The car was nice, clean and sport was a dream. Only issue was a weird noise when reversing while turning probably needed due to the needing a service soon

Regarding the noise when reversing with steering lock applied, this can occur in BMW xDrive models. It is related to normal operation at low speeds and high steering angles where torque distribution between axles can create temporary driveline tension, resulting in a brief humming or groaning noise.
This is a normal AWD characteristic and not a mechanical fault .
