Most unscrupulous, manipulative, disreputable host I have ever encountered. I felt so unsafe that I walked away from the car and went to Hertz.

I reported this host to Turo for a security violation, jwhen he attempted to compromise my privacy and safety by demanding - FOUR TIMES! - that I send him a picture of me and my license next to the car, AFTER I'd already been verified in the app hours earlier - and sent him a screenshot showing I was verified. Turo has safeguards to prevent hosts from saving or taking screenshots during the license verification process....and this guy lied repeatedly, as I was standing alone in the airport parking lot, next to the car, sending messages that it was "company policy" or "Turo Security" that he was demanding an unsecured upload of my license, with all my personal information and home address. When I informed him that what he was asking was a breach of Turo security protocol, he doubled down on the demands. Only after multiple agents from Turo emailed him did he send the code and claim it was a "change in Turo policy". When I was standing at the Hertz rental counter, securing alternate transportation, he started sending messages that my safety is important. This is not someone to trust with access to your personal information or your physical location through the app. I have been a Turo customer since 2021, so I am very familiar with their policies and procedures, but I will think long and hard before I use Turo again.

If you could kindly send me a quick photo showing your face, the car, and your driver’s license (at your convenience), it will help me ensure everything is in line with Turo’s policy. Once we confirm that, I can unlock the door for you and finalize everything. Thank you so much for your understanding, and I look forward to your response.

To all Turo customers - and especially females traveling alone - trust your instincts, be aware of your surroundings, and know your rights. Never let a Turo host pressure you by leaving you standing in a parking lot, with no one around, repeatedly demanding information and images they're not allowed to access. Stay safe, walk away, and report them.
