First time using Turo so I'm still figuring out how it all works, but I have mixed feelings about this host experience.
The car drove good, great on gas and had low mileage. Partway through the trip the car started making a noise that I reported to the host right away (no lights on the dash). How he handled that situation after the fact could have been a lot better.
He was helpful when I had questions during the trip, but the communication had some big gaps. I never got the return instructions before I returned the car, and then got charged a fee for not following them. After I returned the car I reached out twice via the app and never heard back, even though he mentioned he's quick to respond to his guests.
Some good moments but the inconsistency made the overall experience hard to fully recommend.
For accuracy and for future guests, several statements in this review require clarification. I provided a brand‑new 2026 Corolla with 5,923 miles, clean and issue‑free, documented by video. Return instructions were given verbally and in the app. When the issue was reported, I requested the car back immediately, but it was kept overnight and returned early without notice. It was also returned with no gas, which is why the refuel fee applied.
