I rented Juan's white 2016 Ford Focus. When I first got the car, it had a smell, so I felt that the seats needed to be wet vacuumed - but I looked past that.
After driving for some time the first day, I noticed that the cars brake system made intermediate grinding noises. I contacted Juan and he assured me that the pads were okay. However, after continuing the drive, the sound continued, especially while going in reverse or turning to the right or left. I sent videos to Juan and messaged him asking for a trade or an early return, he told me that he understood if I turned the car in early. The next day, when I tried to turn the car in, he initially did not approve my request due to him being out of town. He finally allowed me to return the car early in app after I stated that I would contact Turo for help. I did not want to escalate the situation and I allowed Juan opportunity to rectify the situation.
Today, I woke up to an invoice of $119 in late fees because my early return was approved too late for me to checkout at the requested time. I messaged Juan regarding the charges and 7 hours later, there has still been no reply. Turo fixed the issue after an investigation.
