First positives - the car was in excellent shape -the faux leather seat covers and interior were comfortable and clean. The engine had adequate power to ascend the various mountains a bit slowly but many cars passed us. The odometer read 138k miles, the car or engine reflected that age but no issues. If a person is contemplating a lot of mountain driving, another type of car might be better.
Now the issues- the car was late to the lot, we were instructed to the east airport terminal area to take the shuttle when that side was closed, instructions for shuttle bus imprecise and took us some time to figure out it was the parking spot bus to take. Host drove the car to lot about an hour after scheduled trip time. We were trying to resolve the situation the host who was less than professional or courteous. Communication, professionalism and promptness issues.
Upon return, again we didn’t receive return instructions evening before. 90 min before- I messaged again as “second request” and received instructions.
The biggest issue is that Turo customer service was completely unhelpful in mediating. Although I had used Turo for four years with relative satisfaction, this experience with Turo customer service was an eye opener. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told the chat link was ending. As I researched that numerous complaints have been voiced on various online sites, Turo’s unwillingness to help resolve these issues when both communication and issues are completely dependent on the host has caused me to likely no longer use Turo despite the cheaper price and typical ease in pickup and drop off.
Additionally in Atlanta a Turo host recently cancelled a reserved car one week before scheduled trip without reason leaving us scrambling. Thus reevaluating Turo.
