⭐⭐⭐ 3 Star Review: Good Vehicle, but the Rental Experience Had Some Limitations
🚗 I want to clarify that this review is primarily about the rental experience and the rental terms, not the vehicle itself. I actually really liked the car, and I specifically rented this particular vehicle because it’s one I’m seriously considering purchasing. I had the car for 8 days so I could take my time, experience it in real world driving, and get a better idea of what ownership would be like.
⚙️ One thing I was hoping to experience was Super Cruise. It wasn’t advertised as an included feature, but I could tell from the vehicle photos that the car was equipped with it. Since I was renting the car specifically to evaluate it as a potential purchase, I was hoping to try that feature during my 8 day rental. Unfortunately, there wasn’t an available extra or option to purchase access to Super Cruise specifically. I understand that a feature not included with the rental may not be available, but it did limit my ability to fully evaluate the vehicle.
🛣️ The mileage situation was another issue for me. I originally paid for unlimited mileage, but the mileage terms were changed in a way that meant if I had extended my trip, I would have lost the unlimited mileage I had already paid for. That made extending the rental much less appealing and was something I felt should have remained intact from the original rental terms.
🧼 The drop off expectations also felt higher than what was stated in the listing. The listing asked that the vehicle be kept tidy, but it did not state that a car wash or detailing would be required. After 8 days of normal driving, some road grime such as bugs on the windshield or dirt on the exterior is to be expected. I had no issue returning the car in a reasonably clean and tidy condition, but I felt the expectations went beyond what was communicated in the listing.
👍 To be clear, I liked the vehicle itself. The reason I’m leaving 3 stars is because I’m reviewing the overall rental experience, including the terms, limitations, and what I was ultimately able to experience during the rental.
⭐ I would have rated the experience higher if the original unlimited mileage terms had remained intact and if I had been able to access the features I was hoping to evaluate, particularly given that I intentionally booked an 8 day rental to really experience the vehicle before potentially purchasing one.
Overall, I appreciate the opportunity to drive the car and get a better feel for it. 🚘 The vehicle itself left a good impression. The rental experience just had enough limitations that I feel 3 stars is a fair rating.

For clarity, Super Cruise requires a paid Cadillac subscription and was not advertised or included with the rental, though I still offered to contact OnStar to help. Your unlimited mileage was never changed; you chose to keep the original reservation after Turo showed different terms for a time change. A car wash was not required, and the check engine light was disclosed before pickup. I’m glad the CT5 left a positive impression.
