I want to preface by saying the host was incredibly kind, very responsive, and extremely helpful. The car itself, was the issue. The range of the car is not the range that is within the description of the booking. It actually only has a range of 60 miles, yes sixty. When you drive the car on the freeway, this number decreases significantly. I tried to charge the vehicle by following the hosts instructions and not once, not twice, not even three times, but after eleven unsuccessful attempts of the car not charging with the instructions, the host had to come do it for us. We even left the car overnight and it did not charge. Do yourself a favor and book a car with significantly more miles, because even if you use eco mode to get a bigger range (5 extra miles), you cannot go above 60 mph. The most stressful car ever if you’re going further than 15 miles from the pickup location.

1) Driving the car was easy.
2) I was not informed that the car's battery only charged to 70 miles. I drove from the Santa Ana airport to Carlsbad and Oceanside (50 miles). So I had to recharge it everytime I went anywhere.
3) I charged it to full capacity in Carlsbad and drove to the airport. The car ran out of miles and died about 20 miles from the airport. I had to call AAA to come and tow it to the drop off location.
4) I was also not told that the pick up location for the car would be 10 miles from the airport. I had to pay a taxi $20 plus tip to take me to get the car. I had to have a driver take me from the drop off location to the airport. (another $25).
4) The car performance was fine. The rental administration was not fine. I called twice to the rental agency before I got the car, to ask if there was anything I should know, since I had not driven an electric car before. I was told it would behave just like a fuel driven car. Again, NOT told the car would not be at the airport, in the VW desk, as every other car I've rented has been.

Car is good as described. Host is good too. Keep in mind that the car is old with short range and charges extremely slow, nothing like modern teslas
