Parking lot in front of Eaves Southcoast Apartments. Please DO NOT park in the "future guest" spots in front of the office. If there are no available spots, please park the car just across the street off of Manistee Dr.
Guidelines
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, NO SMOKING OR VAPING OF ANY KIND IN THE CAR! Please be mindful and don't ruin the experience for the next guest. The stench of smoke will remain in the car for a very long time! PLEASE, NO off-roading - this car and its suspension system is not meant for off-road driving; city roads and highways only please! Please drive safely and responsibly. Location of the car is tracked via an Apple AirTag, and this car CANNOT cross the California border into Mexico or Canada. You're welcome to travel to other states within the U.S., but per Turo rules & regulations, it cannot cross U.S. borders into other countries! If your phone repeatedly notifies you that you're being tracked, please turn this feature off. We only check the location of the car about once per day. This vehicle takes unleaded fuel (or super unleaded) only. NO DIESEL, PLEASE! Please keep an eye on the temperature gauge, especially when driving during warmer/hotter weather. During your trip, please don't run the car until the gas tank is empty! Gunk from the bottom of the gas tank may be sucked into the engine. Ensure the car is fueled at a decent level at all times during your trip (try not to go lower than a quarter of a tank). And again, it has to be returned with a full tank of gas, as it was given to you at the start of your trip.

What if I need to travel via toll roads or if any tolls are used?
The car is equipped with a toll road sticker and is tracked through each toll that you travel through. We check the toll account after each trip and will send you an invoice for your toll usage during your trip. We'd appreciate it, if you messaged us after your trip and informed us of your toll usage.
Any tips regarding insurance?
We recommend you follow Turo's guidelines and either purchase their offered protection or ensure your own insurance covers rental vehicles.
What if I return the vehicle and didn't have time to fill up the gas tank? (or forgot to fill it up to full)
We'll refuel and send you the invoice along with a $10 USD convenience fee. It behooves you to refuel the car up to full gauge or slightly above in order not to incur any additional fees.
"The key doesn't insert into the vehicle! What should I do?!"
The key dangling off the key chain is ONLY to open/lock the driver-side door. This key is only to be used if the battery of the electronic transmitter dies and can't lock and unlock the car. The key that deploys with the push of the small silver button is THE ONLY KEY to insert into the ignition! Ensure this key is fully retracted before inserting it into the ignition. PLEASE, DO NOT INSERT THE FREE KEY INTO THE IGNITION!!! AGAIN, THAT'S ONLY FOR THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR!

The Kia ran perfectly fine. We drove it from OC to Las Vegas and back. No issues. Communication with host was fast but ran across an issue. When requesting an extension on the return time (I requested one additional hour due to traffic) the host declined it. I requested it again explaining I was on the way and didn’t want to incur unnecessary fees. The host approved it but clearly stated I needed to get the car washed down the street before returning it. I found this to be an absurd request. I reached out to Turo and they said the host cannot make such request. It’s all in writing and the host was informed. This is all to say, the rental car was great but the host could have been better.

We didn't "request" for the car to be washed, and you failed to mention the part that earlier in the conversation you had agreed to have the car back to us clean, because it was coming back late. We stated the firs time you asked for the extension that it can't come back late, because we needed the car clean for early next AM. You said "Okay" insinuating that you'll have it washed and cleaned so you can return late. We could have denied your 2nd request to be returned late, but we accepted.
