Buyer beware. I give it 2 stars because the host was mostly accommodating and the car had some good parts to it. However there were major issues where Turo and the host treated me unfairly. I will not rent from Turo again.
1. A nail caused a hole in the right rear tire. Since the tires are run flat, I took the vehicle to Costco Irvine, which can repair run flat tires. The hole was located in the center tread, so it could have been repaired had the tire tread level not been at 1/32. Also the left rear tire was measured at 3/32, so it needed to be replaced. In addition the front tires were measured at 2/23. Turo mandates all rentals have a tire tread of at least 4/32. In total I paid $1,042.65 for 2 rear tires; the host reimbursed me $522 for 1 rear tire and Turo compensated me $116, so I am out $404.65. While I have provided proof that the tires were measured below the required 4/32 tread level, neither Turo nor the host will share proof of the annual inspection, which they claim proves the tires were at 4/32 tread level right before the rental started. Apparently this is a privacy issue.
2. After the tire replacement, I wanted to return the car early to help offset the cost I spent on the tires. Neither the host nor Turo would allow me to return the car for a partial refund since the trip was nonrefundable. They both had knowledge that the tires were below the 4/32 required tread depth and would still not provide a partial refund for an early return.
3. My flight was delayed and since the vehicle was picked up in hourly parking, I had to pay the parking overage charge of $4 and total of $8. Turo will only reimburse you for 1 hour of parking, $4, even if you ask to be reimbursed for an extra amount due to a flight delay. I input my flight into my reservation, so it should have been tracked and the reservation adjusted accordingly. This also points to a larger flaw of having the vehicles picked up in paid parking, due to delays.
4. Other than the tire tread and a low transmission filter life, the vehicle was in good condition. The host was accommodating in letting me return the car early to get on an earlier flight, though no offer of a refund or course.

I’m disappointed this review leaves out important context. You got a nail in the tire during your trip, yet I still worked with you and reimbursed $522. I also accommodated your early return; the refund decision was based on Turo’s policy. I also never brought up your documented excessive speeding, including sustained high-speed driving for nearly 100 miles at a time. Despite this, I remained professional and accommodating throughout your trip and made every effort to help resolve your concerns.
