Definitely would not recommend this rental. For the price, I expected a vehicle in significantly better condition. The listing also did not disclose that the car requires 91-octane premium fuel, which would have been useful to know before booking.
The car had numerous issues during my rental:
* At times, the car failed to turn over/start properly.
* The A/C made an intermittent buzzing/ringing noise.
* The gas cap was not attached, and the exterior gas door would not close.
* The roof/headliner fabric was falling down in the back seat.
* The rear hatch cover was not fully attached.
* The driver-side door squeaked loudly.
I was honestly surprised that a car this old and in this condition is still being rented on Turo. It is over 12 years old, and the age definitely shows. Maybe this would be a fine sporty car for someone who specifically likes a loud, older GTI and doesn’t mind significant wear and tear, but that was not what I expected based on the listing.
Even without the issues, I think the rental is overpriced for the age and condition of the vehicle. Considering all of the problems above, it was definitely overpriced. I would not rent this car again.

Pickup location was in the alley behind the house. Not difficult to get to, but just surprising at first if you don’t know the area. Charlie took care of all that info by communicating it very well.
He was also so friendly. Loved meeting him, and he’s available for you all the time.
The car turbo was actually really helpful for hills, which was new.
Smooth ride. No problems.
