BEWARE!!! Do not rent from this host.
The host does not properly inspect their car between renters. The wheel had a crack on the inside that I only discovered once I was already about 2,000 miles into my trip. When I contacted the host, they refused to pay for repairs at an authorized dealership and told me to just "leave it" on the side of the road or "find a spare," leaving me stranded to figure out my own ride.
I ended up paying out of pocket to repair damage that was already there before my trip, and the host still charged me for the extra trips I had to make to fix their vehicle. The host even asked why I had driven that far knowing the car was damaged, when I had no way of knowing until it failed to keep air in the tire. That question said it all. It seems likely the host knew about the damage before handing me the car and planned to blame it on me.
One star. Rent from someone who isn’t going to leave you stranded to figure things out yourself.

I am convinced that he damaged the vehicle himself and wanted me to cover the repair costs at inflated rates. I offered to cancel the trip, but he chose to continue—ultimately driving 4,000 miles—all while remaining dissatisfied. I simply want to warn others: please be careful. It was a negative experience for me, and I regret not taking steps to end the trip.
