I have used Turo before and this was by far my worst experience. The host was irresponsible and arrogant from the start. He didn’t bother to inspect the vehicle during handoff and handed the car over dirty.
More importantly, the vehicle was unsafe. It stalled out every time I lost traction. The tires were in terrible condition with visible gouges, a tire went flat in less than 48 hours and when I checked the trunk the spare tire was literally frozen into the well and unusable. This is a major safety hazard.
To make matters worse, the host’s behavior was unacceptable. He told me I should’ve put the spare on anyways. Also, when I mentioned the car stalling when I lost traction he responded with “it’s winter baby”. He treated me as if I were uneducated and didn't know what I was talking about, despite his own negligence regarding the car's maintenance. Save yourself the headache and the safety risk—avoid this host.
