Hi Tawanna, my apologies for your experience. My car has an automatic oil sensor that pops on when the oil level reaches 20%. I have no control of when that occurs and it pops on before the oil is completely empty to give the driver at least a month before it reaches 0%.
I completely understand your frustration seeing a maintenance light on, but I can assure you that was a precautionary light instead of an overdue light.
I’m glad you had a fine trip and brought the car back in great condition
