I was originally going to leave a 5-star review. The host was responsive, and the car was in good shape — the brakes squeaked slightly, but the host confirmed it had just been serviced, so that wasn't an issue.

Then after the trip ended, the host sent me an invoice demanding I pay $36 for the parking garage where they retrieved the car. Under Turo's policy, hosts may not charge a guest for any parking fee they pay to pick up their own vehicle after a trip ends. The host pushed back repeatedly when I questioned it, and only dropped it after I sent them a screenshot of Turo's own policy.

Separately, I paid $28 out of pocket for parking at pickup (with only $8 reimbursed). Turo's policy says a host can only make a guest responsible for a pickup parking fee if it's disclosed in a scheduled message immediately after booking. That never happened, and it wasn't in the listing either.

Two separate policy violations on one trip. I don't know how many other guests have been charged this way, but it shouldn't be happening.

One other note for future renters: this is a coupe with a manually removable roof panel, not a convertible. That isn't clear in the listing.

SATENIK's response

You requested paid delivery to a paid parking area, yet you didn’t want to cover the parking fee and I honestly don’t see who else you expected to pay for it. I didn’t want to argue, so we paid for your parking, but you chose to devalue the entire, excellent service you received over a mere $36.

Best regards, Sati

Great experience, highly recommend the host and the car! Would definitely repeat with this host, much appreciated!
