Car smelled like weed, had a knocking noise from the front left tire. Drive was fine otherwise, clean car. Seatbelt malfunction notification went on when I had a passenger.

Upon pickup, the vehicle smelled strongly of marijuana. I was traveling with a baby, so this was extremely concerning and unacceptable. I contacted the company about the odor and was told that it was probably from the previous driver, but I was not offered any solution or remedy. Regardless of who caused the odor, I should not have been expected to travel with my baby in a vehicle that smelled strongly of marijuana.
There were also several safety and cleanliness issues with the vehicle. The rear passenger-side seatbelt latch was broken, which meant I could not safely secure my baby’s car seat in that position. I had to place him behind the driver’s seat instead, where I could not easily see or monitor him while driving.
Additionally, the car seat I paid an extra $25 to rent was filthy and completely unacceptable for a baby. The vehicle’s tires were also low on air when I first received the car.
Between the strong marijuana odor, broken seatbelt latch, filthy rental car seat, and low tire pressure, I am extremely disappointed with the condition and safety of the vehicle I was provided. These issues were particularly concerning because I was traveling with a baby, and I expected the vehicle and rented car seat to be clean, safe, and ready for use at pickup.
