Great car! That a 20 year old car has an engine this smooth and responsive speaks to how much care and effort is put into properly maintaining it. One of my best driving experiences and great if you are a car enthusiast and wants to drive an M54 E46

Thanh is kind easy to work with, but the car is not in great shape. There are leaks, so the trunk is soaking wet and anyone who sits in the back seat will have a wet butt. The plastic cup holder molding comes out with your water bottle any time you try to grab your bottle, and the car is in worse shape both outside and inside than what the pictures depict. The pictures must not be recent. Finally, I don’t think the inside of the front or rear windshield has been cleaned in a long time, and it makes visibility difficult.
The damp trunk after heavy rain was caused by partially clogged drainage tubes, but disclosed before the trip and since cleared. Back seats were fine. No visibility issues with the interior windshield; any haze likely from pollen or road film during the storm. Critical reviews for this car tend to happen in wet, damp autumn months, when vintage convertibles naturally feel less cozy than in summer. Minor quirks are magnified after dreary conditions. But renter confirmed the top worked properly.

We had good review of the host but the Car’s condition was not as nice as it looked on the site, headlights are so dim you can hardly see them on dark roads, the trunk leaks if it rains, and there is a disconcerting rattle in the drive train when accelerating on the highway. It is a 21 year old car but there is a reason it is available at such a reasonable rate.
This classic BMW uses original xenon headlights that pass inspection but can appear dimmer on dark, rainy roads. A minor rattle came from aggressive acceleration onto a bent support board that’s since been straightened, and the driveshaft replaced. The car runs well but, like any vintage, drives best with a light touch. Even with regular maintenance, occasional hiccups happen with older cars. Guests seeking a newer, 100% hassle-free experience may prefer a modern commuter car with low mileage.
