Was my first time using Turo, but was not entirely positive. Had to spend $36 for an Uber to take me from the airport to the car’s location, but I knew this ahead of time. No biggie.

Turned out to be a 40/40 car, meaning it looks as good as the pictures from 40 feet away or going by at 40 mph. Up close, however, it had the patina of a very used car with well over 110k miles. That didn’t matter to me, though, except the amount I was paying would have rented a nearly new car from the any of the major companies.

Once in it, the sedan wouldn’t start; the four and a half year-old battery was dead. Called the owner; he came in about 20 minutes and jump started the engine. I followed him to a service shop where he paid for the battery to be replaced, but I had to wait there for two long hours, missing my family brunch. He did apologize for the inconvenience, and I was able to shame him into taking $50 off the rental. He also allowed me to drop off the car at the airport, which was much appreciated.

Once out of the shop, the vehicle did well, other than it smelled like air fresheners attempting to mask the smell of cigarettes and weed; a heavy film on the inside of the windshield made the view look hazy.

Think I would have done better renting a car at the airport.

Little Luna was nothing but pleasant. Vehicle had technical difficulties, but otherwise a pleasant experience.
