I have used Turo for the past two years and have never had an experience this unprofessional, unsafe, and frustrating.
During my trip, I discovered that the vehicle had multiple missing lug nuts, which is an extremely serious safety issue. This was not a minor inconvenience, it is a dangerous condition that could have had severe consequences. I should never have been put in a position where I had to identify and deal with something like that in the middle of a rental. On top of that, I was also experiencing transmission issues, which only added to how concerning the condition of the vehicle was overall.
What made the situation worse was the host’s response. Instead of acknowledging the seriousness of the issue, the conversation was repeatedly redirected and minimized. I had to take time out of my trip to handle the problem myself, yet the host later framed it as if he had been helpful and had properly handled it, which was not my experience at all.
To make matters worse, after all of this, I was accused of not refueling the vehicle properly. I returned the car with more gas than I received, yet was still charged nearly $30 and questioned as if I had been dishonest. I have never had an issue with invoices in all my time using Turo, which makes this situation even more frustrating.
This experience was not just inconvenient, it felt negligent and unprofessional from start to finish! I lost time during my trip dealing with issues that should never have existed, and the lack of accountability throughout the process made it even worse.
I would strongly caution anyone considering renting from this host! Safety and professionalism should never be a gamble. This situation is currently under review.
I’m sorry for what you have experienced as safety is a top priority. You continued to drive the vehicle after the lugs were replaced. You brought back the vehicle with no known issues with what you were stating. And the car went out on a trip the very next day receiving a five star review after its return. The issue here is the accountability. The proof is in the pictures for the pre-trip and post trip where I told you to look with no misrepresentation.
