Gregg was very helpful and the car worked well. He provided a lot of great resources for first-time electric car drivers like myself. Using the attached card for free charging at the end was helpful as well. The car could have been a bit cleaner, but it was not a deal killer.

As major supporters of electric vehicles and sustainability, we were excited to rent this 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV from Gregg, to help promote affordable EV access.

Unfortunately, this was by far the most problematic rental car we've experienced in over 25–30 years of renting dozens of vehicles from various companies.
The car had numerous issues that made the trip frustrating, unreliable, and at times concerning for safety:

The interior was in an absolute filthy state with an unpleasant smell.
Windshield washer fluid was completely empty: I had to stop and refill it myself with my own drinking water just to clean the windshield.

The rear hatch/back door fell on my head twice while it was raining (poor latch or alignment?).

Steering felt hard and resistant/locking on curves, with excessive effort from the power steering/electronics. this raised real safety questions on the road. Greg offered to return the car, but I was swamped under work and literally unable to go anywhere outside of my back-forth business location.

Tire pressure sensors were erratic and malfunctioning; after contacting the host, I had to detour to a tire shop where all four sensors were replaced, costing me 45–50 minutes and an unnecessary hassle.

These weren't minor inconveniences; they piled up quickly, and I stopped documenting/reporting some after a while due to their frequency.

Communication from the host was sporadic and didn't fully address questions or concerns promptly.
While the Bolt itself drives "ok" if functioning the condition and maintenance fell well short of expectations, especially one marketed as "top-rated" for EVs.

A higher rating would not be accurate or fair given the volume of problems.

Hoping this detailed feedback helps improve things for future guests and keeps EVs a positive option.

Gregg was responsive on a couple points (e.g., directing to the tire shop), but overall, this experience was disappointing.

Would not recommend this specific vehicle until this is taken offline and major fixes and deep cleaning are done.

It was decent, the car had old stains and an old odor. Other than that the host is great. He’s informative and communicates well.
