I typically only rent from highly rated Turo hosts, and unfortunately I made an exception this time. I’ve rented 10 vehicles through Turo and have never experienced anything like this.
While I was literally on the plane heading to Atlanta, I was suddenly told there was an issue delivering the vehicle to the location I had selected when requesting the reservation—even though the reservation had already been accepted with that delivery location. I was then told the car was over 90 minutes away and that I would need to pay an additional delivery fee. Because I was landing and heading directly to an important meeting, I ultimately agreed to pay rather than be left without transportation.
The contactless pickup was also made unnecessarily difficult despite my license/photos already being submitted through Turo. I even offered to meet in person if she was willing to wait, because I simply needed to get to my meeting. There was then an issue with leaving the vehicle with the hotel valet, which made the entire pickup far more stressful than it needed to be.
Now, after the trip, the host has filed a damage claim alleging additional damage to the exact same rim she acknowledges was already damaged before my rental. Thankfully, the hotel staff had specifically pointed out and documented existing damage when the vehicle was delivered because I wasn’t there yet, and the before/after condition can be reviewed through the documentation.
I am an extremely careful driver and have never had an issue like this across 10 Turo rentals. Between the last-minute delivery problems, additional payment request, difficulty actually receiving the vehicle, and now a claim involving an already-damaged rim, this was easily my worst experience on the platform.
Buyer beware. I would not rent from this host again.

Moving forward, I’m glad we take pictures before and after that shows the time because there was definitely a black spot on the rim due to a prior rental but this driver scratched the entire rim all the way around the rim including toward the center, she changed locations due to an event surprise and was charged for that as well, she made a reservation for me to leave keys with valet and when it’s delivery I deliver to the person not valet, he took pictures as well and showed me the scratch
