Car was in great condition and drove well. Unfortunately the registration is well out of date and I do not feel comfortable using Themis service again.

The registration is not out of date. In North Carolina we are not required to keep updated stickers on the vehicle as of OCT 1st. You did not mention this worry to us during the trip or we would have explained that the registration is 100% up to date.
