This wasn’t the worst experience, but it felt very one sided and lacking consideration.
We arrived on time but waited about 20 minutes for access to the vehicle, which delayed us. When we later requested a 2-hour extension and communicated everything properly, we were still charged a full extra day ($135). The host said he would contact Turo to help reduce the fee, but never followed up and didn’t answer multiple calls that night. We also never heard back from Turo.
We even tried to extend for another full day when it showed available, but the dates were suddenly blocked. Throughout the trip, we were respectful, on time, within the grace period, and returned the car with extra gas.
As a second time Turo user, this felt unfair and disappointing. We showed understanding when the trip started with delays on their end, but didn’t receive that same consideration in return. We will be following up with Turo regarding this experience. Not terrible, but not a host we’d book with again.
