The car had a check engine light on the 3rd day after renting. He had me take it to AutoZone to find out it had a bad misfire. I think this guy just buy used cars and rent them out without putting work in. It had cigarettes holes in the seats and exhaust was extremely loud. Also I rented the Ford explorer. The battery died the 2nd day after getting off work finding out the car battery was dead will never rent again from him.
Can understand the frustration. Can’t foresee a CEL coming on the 3rd day or a battery on the second day. My cars are well maintained and as far as I know you didn’t have any issue driving 500+ miles the entire week including 2 days after CEL.

Can did not run the best.
Not clear if there was an issue during your rental. Mechanic checked it out and car runs great. The car recently drove to Delaware, so no issues.

Vehicle has some issue accelerating
4 cylinder Kia Fortes aren’t known for speed. Good MPG and point A to B car.
