The latest updates to help your business

Since the launch of monthly discounts, a growing number of guests have been attracted by the competitive prices for these longer trips, which are in line with short-term leases and other alternatives to buying or leasing a car. This growing segment of trips continues to create opportunities for hosts. However, hosts have shared the need to earn more from monthly trips for them to make sense for their business.

We heard you, and recommended discounts for monthly trips were recently lowered from 60-70% to 45% to help boost host earnings and profitability while still pricing competitively. Compared to a 60% discount, the 45% discount lets hosts grow their earnings by 36%, to an average of $736 per month.

Now, also based on your feedback, there are three new improvements to monthly trips. Read on to learn about the latest updates to help increase demand, help you earn more, and simplify settings.

Growing demand for monthly trips

To help make pricing for longer trips more competitive, as of March 28, 2025, Turo’s trip fee for trips one month or longer was reduced to zero in most markets. Additionally, we reduced guest protection prices for monthly bookings by 50% to further reduce the total price that guests see when shopping around, while still offering guests the same level of coverage. This all means the price for monthly trips will still be competitive for guests, while the monthly discounts adjustments let hosts earn more.

Taking the guesswork out of monthly trip earnings

We’ve also heard hosts want to know upfront how much you’d earn for these longer trips. Now, a new interactive feature lets you see your estimated take-home earnings with monthly discounts to help you decide what’s right for your business.

The feature lets you play with your monthly discounts to see how your earnings, distance limit, and likelihood of getting a booking would be affected.

Find the tool in the “Pricing & discounts” tab within each vehicle listing.

Simplifying monthly trip settings

Lastly, host settings for monthly discounts have been simplified. Many hosts found the old settings with three different discounts, each paired with a different distance limit, overly complex. Now, these settings have been consolidated into a single recommended discount of 45%, paired with a distance limit of 1,800 miles. If this doesn’t work for your business, please update your settings
