How do I get to Strasbourg?

Getting to Strasbourg is relatively simple.
Strasbourg-Entzheim airport is located about 10 km west of the city, and offers both national and international flights. Once there, you can take the shuttle train from the airport to Strasbourg train station in just 9 minutes.
Strasbourg-Ville train station is right in the heart of the city. With the TGV Est Européen, Paris is just 1 hour 50 minutes away from Strasbourg. What's more, thanks to its border location, Strasbourg is within easy reach of many major European cities, including Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich and Brussels.
If you're coming by car, from Paris you can take the A4 eastbound. Strasbourg is also well connected to other major French and European cities thanks to a dense motorway network. Several long-distance bus companies also serve Strasbourg from various cities in France and other major European cities.
For cyclists, Strasbourg is a key stop on the EuroVelo 15 route, known as "L'itinéraire du Rhin", which stretches from the source of the Rhine in Switzerland to its mouth in the Netherlands.
Whichever way you choose to arrive in Strasbourg, you'll be greeted by a warm and dynamic city, proud of its Alsatian heritage and its role as an European crossroads.

What to do in Strasbourg?

How can you visit Strasbourg without seeing the majestic Notre-Dame de Strasbourg Cathedral, whose spire seems to touch the sky? But strolling in Strasbourg also means getting lost in the maze of cobbled streets in the Petite France district, lined with half-timbered houses and criss-crossed by charming canals. Visit the magnificent 15th-century Maison Kammerzell, one of the most ornate and ancient in the city.
The European Parliament is a reminder of the city's importance on the international stage. Strasbourg also boasts numerous museums, including the Musée d'Art Moderne et Contemporain, the Musée Alsacien and the Musée de l'Œuvre Notre-Dame. Equally impressive are the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the Musée des Beaux-Arts and the Musée Archéologique, housed in the Palais Rohan. Pass over the covered bridges and the Barrage Vauban, and enjoy the view from the dam's terrace.
For a moment of pleasure, relax in the Parc de l'Orangerie, the Jardin des Deux Rives or the Parc de Pourtalès. Don't miss a gourmet break with a tarte flambée, kouglof, sauerkraut or backeoffe in a "Winstub", emblems of Alsace's culinary richness, not to mention its wines. In the evening, the banks of the River Ill light up, offering a romantic and peaceful atmosphere. There's nothing better than a cruise on a bateau-mouche to discover this. If you visit Strasbourg in December, the Christmas markets are a must. In fact, the city is nicknamed the "Christmas Capital".

Which car rental in Strasbourg?

City tours and urban areas: compact or city cars are ideal for navigating the narrow streets of Strasbourg and for parking more easily. Strasbourg has made significant efforts to become a greener city. Opting for an electric or hybrid car can offer you benefits like dedicated parking spaces.
Exploring Alsace and wine regions: If you plan to travel around Alsace, especially with family or a group, a larger sedan might be more comfortable. For those who want to enjoy the Alsatian landscape during the warmer months, rent a convertible.
Mountain excursions in the Vosges: if you plan to drive in the mountains or on more difficult terrain, an SUV or 4x4 will be more suitable vehicles.
Special Occasions: If you are in town for a special occasion or an important business trip, you may want to consider renting a luxury or classic car.
Long journeys or large groups: If you're traveling with a large group or need lots of luggage space, opt for a minibus or minivan.

Frequently asked questions

When to rent a car?

With Turo, you can rent a car all year round at prices that don’t change as much as those charged by a car rental agency. However, it's always a good idea to plan ahead for busy rental periods such as vacations and bank holidays.

Why is there a deposit when I rent a car?

At Turo, only certain categories require a deposit. Vehicles in the "Deluxe Class" category require a deposit of €400, while "Super Deluxe Class" vehicles require a deposit of €600. These amounts are used to cover any additional costs, such as extra kilometers.

Where can I rent a car?

With Turo, you can rent a car from home and pick it up in France, the US, Canada, the UK and Australia. Unlike agencies, pick-up locations are not packed in major cities, train stations or airports, but are available everywhere. Whether you're in an urban or rural area, you'll find a vehicle close by.

How do I rent a luxury car?

Getting a luxury car on Turo is easy. Filter the available vehicles in your area to see only the luxury cars available nearby. Please note that you must have held a driver's license for more than 7 years to rent most vehicles in the "Deluxe Class" and "Super Deluxe Class" ranges.

How much does a car rental cost?

Turo offers a very wide range of vehicles in all categories and at all prices, from €20 per day to suit many budgets.

How can I get discounts on my rental?

There are two ways to obtain discounts on your rental. You can spot discounts offered by certain hosts for early bookings at least one week before the start of your trip. You can also get a discount for longer trips, starting from 3 consecutive days.

Can I have my rental car delivered?

On Turo, vehicle delivery is possible. Many vehicles are available for delivery to train stations or airports, and you can also filter the vehicles offering delivery to a specific address. Delivery includes pick-up and return of the vehicle. Depending on the situation, additional charges may apply.

What's the difference between OuiCar and Turo?

Turo, the world's largest car-sharing platform, has acquired OuiCar, the French pioneer in car sharing. OuiCar has become Turo France. The service remains fundamentally the same: hosts (called "owners" on OuiCar) offer their cars to guests (called "renters" on OuiCar) across France via the platform, which covers all trips (previously called "rentals"). But Turo France now offers a wider range of vehicles, greater flexibility of coverage, and has adopted Turo's standards of excellence in quality and customer service.

How do I cancel a car rental?

Guests can easily cancel their reservation via the website or mobile application. Depending on the circumstances, the guest may receive a partial or full refund, or no refund at all. Cancellation takes effect immediately. The amount of the refund depends on the time of cancellation and the length of the trip. The cancellation period is based on the vehicle's time zone. If the reservation is made 25 hours or more before the start of the trip, the guest may cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before departure. If the reservation is made less than 25 hours before the start of the trip, the guest may cancel the trip up to one hour before departure. Other conditions may affect the amount of the refund. Find out more in the cancellation conditions.

How do I extend a car rental?

To extend your rental, you need to submit your request on Turo. Access your booked trip, select the "Details" tab and then "Modify trip". You can do this at any time during your trip and up to 6 hours after the originally scheduled end time.

Where can I park my car for free in Strasbourg?

It's difficult to find a free parking space in Strasbourg's shopping streets and historic center, so choose the area around Parc de l'Orangerie, Parc de l'Étoile and the residential area of Neudorf for free parking.

What excess do I need to pay when renting a car?

On Turo, in the event of damage, there is no deductible but a remaining amount determined according to the protection plan you have chosen. The Premier Protection plan guarantees you no out-of-pocket expenses, while the Standard Protection plan subjects you to a maximum out-of-pocket expense of €250 in the event of damage, and a maximum out-of-pocket expense of €3,000 for the Limited Protection plan.
