Pay extra attention to school zones, which have reduced speed limits during specific hours. Be prepared for sudden weather changes, particularly during summer storm season, by knowing how to operate your vehicle's lights and wipers. Familiarise yourself with the car's windscreen wipers and headlights for reduced visibility situations. In winter, while snow isn't a concern, early mornings can be chilly, so test the car's heating system. Year-round, keep a pair of sunglasses handy for bright Queensland sun.
