I had a horrible & terrifying experience.
Firstly, I had booked a C CLASS (2023 model) for pickup at 10am.
At 9.45, i was told that the car was not available due to a flat tyre and was told that an alternative car, typically an upgraded S class (2017 model) was available as a replacement.
It took the host around 30 mins to fix the situation and our trip had to be rescheduled to 10.30.

Mid way our trip to twelve apostles, before reaching Apollo Bay, i contacted the host several times to tell them there was a rattling sound in the vehicle. Asking them the best course of action, and whether to proceed further or not. However, no concrete solution or advise was provided even after sharing multiple videos expressing our concern and clearly explaining the problem. As we were feeling helpless, we decided to abort our trip and head back to Melbourne.
On our way back, the intensity of noise kept on increasing to a point that it became terrifying.
We contacted the host and the manager of the host multiple times, but still no help was provided.

And then tragedy struck, one of the tyres came out (front, passenger seat) on the highway, with high speeding cars, on a two way street without a divider near the forest area, when we were driving at a speed of 80km/h. And by came out, i really mean the car collapsed from one side, and the tyre went blazing out, across the street.
An extremely terrifying experience, in a foreign location.
Fortunately, all of us were safe and no one suffered any injuries.
But for the host to not provide immediate assistance? DISAPPOINTING.
We were told to contact Turo road side assistance.
After explaining everything to the assistance team, we got no intimation as to when the car will be towed away.
Furthermore, they would only provide help for the vehicle not passengers.
After waiting for 30 minutes, in the middle of nowhere completely stranded and after multiple attempts to reach out to the host to help us, a fellow Indian passerby saw us and asked if we needed help to reach a safe and better location.
We called the host multiple times, asking if we could head to a nearby town to ensure safety to which he said that we would need to be present with the car at the time of the car being towed away.
It felt like no one cared about the passengers, just the car. To add, my parents are senior citizens.
After waiting for another 20-30 minutes and feeling extremely helpless, we headed to a nearby town- Geelong.
At Geelong, we received a call from Turo saying that since we left the car, we’d be liable in case the car is stolen, to which we explained our situation that it wasn’t feasible or safe for us to remain on the road without knowing the ETA of the assistance vehicle.
but still, no help.
After spending more than 60 minutes at Geelong and being told to just wait, we decided to head back to melbourne.
Luckily, before boarding our train, we got a call from the assistance officer asking for car keys as he had reached the car location.
We took help of a local resident to deliver car keys at the said location and left back to our hotel at Melbourne.
Truly disappointing for a tourist to experience such a thing. Zero assistance for passengers.
