We’ve rented from Jacob for the last few years and have always had the best experience.

We originally booked this vehicle through my partner’s account, but the trip was cancelled approximately 24 hours before pickup due to a licence verification issue, despite the driver already being approved on the Turo platform. This resulted in a cancellation charge.
We were not given an opportunity to resubmit the licence photo or otherwise resolve the issue before the booking was cancelled. To proceed with our travel plans, we had to rebook the exact same vehicle at a significantly higher price.
When we contacted support, we were given conflicting guidance: the host advised the issue was due to Turo’s verification system and indicated they could process a refund, while Turo advised that only the host could issue the refund. We were unable to obtain a clear resolution between the two parties.
The total cost of the trip increased significantly compared to the original booking due to the cancellation and rebooking.
Based on this experience, we would caution other users that last-minute licence verification issues can lead to cancellations and unexpected additional costs, even when the driver has already been approved on the platform.
Apologies you didn’t get the solution you were looking for from Turo. The verification system is put in place by Turo if you can’t provide the documentation they require they will cancel the trip. You mentioned you were already verified on the app but the licence needs to be presented on the licence verification tab within the 24 hours prior to start time.
This review should be directed at Turo and not the host. You said you loved the car so it shouldn’t go on the cars review page.
