As the saying goes, Portland is where young people go to retire — and let’s just be clear that this is the most active kind of retirement imaginable.

Each quadrant of Portland has a slightly different take on the perfect record store, cup of coffee, farmer’s market, and place to stroll with your pooch.
As the world’s largest independent bookstore, anyone with an affinity for the printed word — or any affinity, really — can fall into an IRL wormhole, see favorite authors read, and find used or rare editions.
The intense fandom at Timbers soccer games could fool you into thinking you’re not on American soil, but the popular MLS team puts on a show worthy of their chanting, singing fans.
While Forest Park is the largest urban park in the country, Washington Park may be Portland’s most beautiful. It’s home to the Oregon Zoo, the rose test garden, the Portland Japanese garden, and an archery range.
