Car was excellent, the driving is so smooth. There is a small issue with speaker but the rest is fine

We rented this car for 5 days but barely used it, as in we just used it in day 1 and it was just literally parked in a safe gated compound for the entire trip. When we were about to go home in day 5, one of the front tyres was flat and unfortunately there was no tools and carjack in the car; only a spare tyre. We contacted the host ‘coz we were supposed to call a road assistance but he said we could just run the car flat to the nearest tyre shop, resulting for the tyre to be damaged. We had no choice but to replace one of the tyres with our own money. I know it is the renter’s responsibility to pay for any damages incurred during the trip, but such unnecessary expenses and stress could have been avoided if only there was tools and carjack in the car. We could have just changed it to the spare tyre so there was no way for us to run it flat. What if we were at the middle of nowhere when this happened? I could not imagine the anxiety my wife and I would have experienced. It was so unsafe. I hope #TURO will address this and require all hosts to stock spare tyre, tools, carjack and any other safety tools in the car so that when unfortunate things like this happens, renters will have a choice; renters will feel safe. But in fairness with the host, he was approachable and helpful.
