Everything in the car worked well and no issues during the week long trip. Car is advertised as Cairns airport pick up but is actually located outside East-Coast car rentals - a 10-15min tuber ride from the airport. Host assisted by arranging uber to pick up location.

The car drove well, was easy to locate, and communication with the host was smooth throughout the trip.
However, there were a few issues that affected our experience. We found several small cockroaches, one large cockroach, and some spiders inside the vehicle, which suggests the car had not been thoroughly cleaned before being handed over. A clean and pest free vehicle is a basic expectation when hiring a car.
Additionally, we were not informed beforehand that we would need to pay for airport parking when collecting the vehicle. The cost itself was not an issue, but it would have been appreciated if this had been clearly communicated in advance as a courtesy.
Overall, the car performed well, but the cleanliness and communication regarding airport parking could be improved.
