A car rental near Snowbird turns a good ski trip into an easy one. Snowbird sits 13 miles up Little Cottonwood Canyon on State Route 210, and with your own car you skip shuttle schedules entirely. You leave when the powder calls, not when the next bus rolls in.
Your own set of wheels unlocks far more than the resort. Ski Alta at the top of the same canyon, or cross over to Big Cottonwood Canyon. Spend a rest day in Park City, then drop into downtown Salt Lake City for dinner.
Booking on Turo is refreshingly simple. You pick the exact car you want, choose your dates, and arrange delivery to the airport, your hotel, or a spot near the canyon. No counter lines, no guessing what you'll drive away in.
Snowbird also puts you at the center of one of the West's great winter hubs. Browse car rental in Salt Lake City to see what's available across the valley, or explore car rental across Utah if your trip stretches beyond the Wasatch.
No two Snowbird trips look the same. The right car depends on who's coming and how long you're staying.

Lehy was an exceptional host. Communication was on point and friendly. The C max hybrid was very clean and comfortable also met my expectations of GREAT gas mileage. I would rent again from Lehy when I return to Salt Lake City. Price was very reasonable. Included mileage of 800 miles was plenty for my trip. Thank you Lehy for the use of your car. I appreciate your hospitality!
This was my first car rental using this app, and by far, it is the best car rental service offered. Jorge is absoluting the best host to rent from! The vehicle I rented was in excellent condition, very well maintained, clean inside and out, and problem free!! In fact, it was much more than I was expecting for the price I paid!! If anyone is needing a rental in Salt Lake, Jorge is the one that will hook you up!! I know I will be hitting Jorge up for my future car rentals!!

Great experience from start to finish! The host was extremely accommodating, responsive, and easy to communicate with throughout the entire rental process. Would definitely rent from them again and highly recommend!

Car was great, small minor issue with the bumper/trunk, however hosts were amazing and make rental process super simple!
Easy pickup and drop off and car was clean. The price felt a bit high for the particular car, but perhaps the demand was up when I was in need of the rental. Great directions and communication from seller.
Cute little car, easy to drive! Stefini was responsive to questions. Airport pickup/dropoff is slick compared to a car rental company. Took the free shuttle to Economy parking and it was parked right where it was labeled. I returned it to the same area and shuttled to the airport. Easy! Never will I book from a car rental company and wait in line again! People mention the air conditioner in the reviews. If you turn it on through the defrost, it worked great for me and it was in the 80's. I would book again!

Trip was awesome but the hosts were the best part! I’ve rented other cars with Turo and didn’t expect responses or accommodations, but hosts were above and beyond helpful. Great experience, awesome car, thank you so much for making my short trip great for me! I wish I could always book from them in other cities, 100 stars🌟

Great car. Great service. I no longer think Turo in slc is faster then rental cars

Trip and hosts were PHENOMENAL! They taught us how to operate the Tesla since we had never driven one and we were so thankful! Pickup and drop off was a breeze. Our flight was also delayed 3.5 hours and we were able to extend our rental no charge. Seriously the best! The hosts are also extremely responsive if you have any issues!

The KIA was absolutely amazing! Gary was a great host, clear communication and very simple instructions with great pictures for pick up! Car was very clean and helped make our trip wonderful! I would 100% rent again.

Great rental experience overall. The car was very clean, comfortable, and drove great with no issues at all. Pickup was quick and easy, and the return process was just as smooth. It also got great gas mileage, which was a nice bonus. Everything was straightforward from start to finish. I’d definitely rent this car again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, reliable, and easy rental experience.
Another great rental from Kenn! This is my fourth time renting from him and he always has the best cars and makes it super easy. I'll be renting from him again.

Great Turo experience! The Tesla was clean, comfortable, and really fun to drive. The car was in excellent condition, and pickup and drop-off were both easy and smooth. The host was responsive and helpful throughout the trip. I would definitely rent this car again and highly recommend it!

The car is well maintained and clean. Ian is quick to respond to any questions or concerns. I would definitely rent his cars again! Thank you
Rent a car and explore Snowbird, UT

Alta is a skiers-only legend at the very top of Little Cottonwood Canyon, just past Snowbird. Deep snow and classic terrain make it worth every minute of the drive. It sits only about a mile farther up SR-210, so an all-wheel-drive SUV lets you ski both resorts in one trip.
Big Cottonwood Canyon runs up SR-190, a separate road that leads to Solitude and Brighton. Both resorts reward the extra drive with wide-open terrain and their own distinct character. Because it's a different canyon with no direct transfer from Little Cottonwood, you'll want your own car to reach it.
Park City is Utah's marquee mountain town, packed with world-class skiing, standout dining, and a historic Main Street. It makes a perfect rest-day escape when you want a change of pace. It's roughly a 45-minute drive from Snowbird, so car rental in Park City keeps the day trip effortless.

SLC is your nearest fly-in hub, about 29 miles from Snowbird. Many cars can be delivered right to your terminal or a nearby parking spot, so you're on the road minutes after you land. Browse car rental at Salt Lake City airport to start your trip there.
Sandy is the last town at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon. It's the smart place to grab groceries, snacks, and a full tank before the climb up SR-210. A car rental in Sandy puts you a short drive from the canyon entrance.
If you're staying in the city before the mountains, downtown makes a central starting point. It's an easy drive to the canyon whenever you're ready to head up. Many cars offer downtown Salt Lake City pickups or delivery for maximum flexibility.

A little planning goes a long way in the mountains. Keep these essentials in mind before you drive up Little Cottonwood Canyon.
When the canyon beacons flash, Little Cottonwood falls under Utah's Traction Law. Vehicles need at least 5/32-inch tread depth and M+S or 3PMSF-rated tires, and AWD or 4WD is strongly recommended. The canyon also closes periodically for avalanche mitigation, so book an AWD SUV and keep your day flexible.
Snowbird's lots fill fast on powder days, and peak-day parking can be reserved and paid in advance. Lots also close during avalanche mitigation. Arrive early to claim your spot and start skiing sooner.
Good news: SR-210 into the canyon isn't tolled, and there are no toll roads on the drive up from Salt Lake City. It's a straight, scenic climb from the valley to the resort.
There are no gas stations up the canyon, so fill up in Sandy or the valley before you drive. If you're going electric, charging is available at the resort and around the valley. An electric vehicle rental in Salt Lake City makes a clean, quiet climb up the canyon.
Yes. A car gives you the freedom to reach Alta, Big Cottonwood Canyon, Park City, and downtown on your own schedule. The UTA ski bus is a solid backup on heavy-snow days, but nothing matches the flexibility of having your own car ready to go.
You'll need a valid driver's license and a payment method in your name. Have them ready when you book so pickup goes quickly. Everything is handled in the Turo app before your trip begins.
A valid driver's license is all you need. Visitors from outside the US can usually drive with a license from home, and an international driving permit helps if yours isn't in English.
Most guests need to be at least 18 to book on Turo in the US. Some cars and categories carry higher minimum ages set by the listing. Check the details on each car before you book.
Turo offers a range of protection plans you can choose during booking. You'll see the options and what each one covers before you confirm your trip. Pick the level that fits your comfort and budget.
Often, yes. Many cars offer lower daily rates for weekly and monthly bookings, and prices can dip outside peak powder weekends. Compare listings and dates to find the best value.
Yes. Plenty of cars are available for weeks or months at a time, which suits season-pass holders and longer stays. Filter by your dates to see long-term options and pricing.
Sometimes. Some listings include unlimited distance, while others set a daily mileage limit with a small fee beyond it. Check each car's mileage details before booking so there are no surprises.
Yes. You can add an approved additional driver to your trip in the Turo app. Set it up before your trip so everyone's covered from the start.
It depends on the car, the season, and how long you're staying. Everyday sedans start on the affordable end, while luxury cars and large SUVs cost more. Booking early for powder-season dates usually locks in better rates.

Any personal insurance you may have that covers damage to the host’s vehicle would kick in before your protection plan, except in limited situations for trips booked in Maryland, but this protects your own wallet. In the US, liability insurance is provided under a policy issued to Turo by Travelers Excess and Surplus Lines Company. Terms, conditions, and exclusions apply. The policy does not provide coverage for damage to a host’s vehicle.
