Tesla hire on Turo

There’s something reassuringly consistent about the Tesla lineup. Across the range, there are typically only two types of each model, rather than the raft of options offered by its rivals — usually a Performance version and Long Range iteration. And while there’s a uniformity about Tesla, there’s nothing remotely bland about driving one. Surging popularity means there are plenty of Tesla models to choose from on Turo, wherever you live in the UK. Plan ahead to bag an early bird discount, and hiring a Tesla on Turo might not be as much as you think.

The car did everything you would expect from a Tesla Model 3. Relaxing motorway journeys on Autopilot and problem free charging on the supercharger network.

Tesla Model Y 2022

Our first time using Turo, our first time driving a Tesla – and what an incredible experience it was! We were considering buying a Tesla and decided to rent one to test it out, see if it was worth it, and get a feel for the car. Thanks to this amazing host, the entire experience was unbelievably smooth and enjoyable! From the very beginning, he was there to guide us, answering every single question we had. We rented the car from 7 AM until 11 PM, and throughout the entire day, he was always available, ready to assist us whenever we needed help. Whether it was understanding certain features, figuring out charging, or handling any other Tesla-specific details, he responded immediately every time. His support was absolutely invaluable! The car itself was in pristine condition—spotlessly clean, with a fresh and pleasant scent inside, and everything was perfectly set up. It truly felt like a luxury experience! Another huge bonus was the unlimited mileage, which made our trip to Stonehenge and Windsor Castle much easier and budget-friendly. Overall, this was hands down one of the best rental experiences we’ve ever had. We are beyond happy, and I can guarantee that we’ll be renting from him again. I’ll also be recommending him to all of my friends because he is simply the best host you could ask for! If you’re thinking about renting a Tesla, look no further—this is the host you need. 100% recommended! ✨

The Tesla was great — easy and smooth to drive. Kari was a bit late for pickup, but her flexibility on the return made up for it. I’d definitely rent from her again and recommend to others.

Tesla Model 3

As the smallest and most affordable Tesla, there’s so much to love about the Model 3 — where to start? The lightning-quick performance? The all-glass roof? The minimalist interior? If you’re wondering about charging, the Model 3 recharges to 172 miles in just 15 minutes at a Tesla Supercharger location. And although it’s small by Tesla standards, the Model 3 has got a boot that rivals many SUVs.

Tesla Model S

The newer, more accessibly priced Model 3 may have usurped Tesla’s original sedan, the Model S, but this relative veteran still packs a punch. With its sporty yoke-style steering wheel, staggering on-road performance, and spaciously streamlined interior, there are still plenty of appealing factors. Search for a Model S Plaid, and you’ll experience one of the quickest accelerations of any car in production.

Tesla Model Y

The roomy Model Y has plenty of space for the whole family on a grand adventure, and the all-wheel drive dual motor version handles like a dream, whatever the weather. You’ll always drive with some of the latest tech thanks to over-the-air software updates that continually improve the car and the driver experience.

Electric love

When it comes to EVs, everyone else is snapping at the heels of Tesla. In the meantime, Tesla basks in the glory of nailing exceptional performance, super cool features, impressive range, and the kudos of converting many petrol and diesel drivers to electric for life.

Fabulously futuristic

Step inside a Tesla for the first time, and you might wonder where the dashboard is. Along with every other button and dial usually found in car interiors, for that matter. In a Tesla, everything is controlled by a giant touchscreen, which is your all-in-one dashboard, sat nav, games console, climate adjuster, and more, controlling absolutely everything you want the car to do.

Novelty nods

Unlike other automotive brands that take themselves pretty seriously, Tesla bucks the trend again, equipping its cars with novelty features, from games and light shows to kid-approved ‘emissions’ testers. Some tricks are hidden unless you know exactly how to activate them.

Drive a Tesla

The future is electric

Back in 2014, when the first Tesla arrived on UK shores, few could imagine the incredible success that this all-electric, all-American brand would have.

Fast-forward to today, Tesla cars zip near-soundlessly across every UK town and are lined up like a showroom display at every Tesla Supercharger up and down the nation. From the Model S to the roomy Model Y, it’s hard not to be wooed and won over by Tesla’s luxury appeal.

How can I drive unlimited miles during my trip on Turo?

Some hosts offer unlimited distance for a trip; others set a daily distance limit. On the vehicle pages, you’ll see the total miles or kilometres you’re allowed to drive under the heading “Distance included.” You can find cars offering unlimited mileage with every trip by using the “Unlimited distance” filter.

What payment methods does Turo accept?

Turo accepts most credit cards issued by major financial institutions, including American Express and Discover cards, as well as debit cards with a Visa or Mastercard logo that are linked to a checking account.

Is Turo a rental car company?

No. Unlike rental car companies, Turo is a peer-to-peer car sharing marketplace where you can book directly from trusted local car owners in the US, Canada, and the UK. Turo does not own any vehicles — Turo hosts share their own personal cars and set their own prices, discounts, vehicle availability, and delivery options.

Is there a fee to add additional drivers to my trip?

There is no fee or additional charge for adding a driver to your trip on Turo. Only the guest who booked the trip (primary driver) can request to add drivers; Turo hosts cannot do it for you. We encourage you to request to add authorized drivers before your trip starts, though guests in the US and Canada can request to add a driver while a trip is in progress with no extra charges.

To speed up the process, have your additional driver create a Turo account and get approved to drive before you request to add them. All drivers must have a valid driver’s license and meet the age requirements for the car you’ve booked. You can request to add drivers via the “Trips” tab in the Turo app without additional driver charges or extra costs.

Are there Teslas available near the airport?

Yes, there are Teslas available on Turo at locations near airports across the UK. To save time and hassle, skip the rental car counter and have your Tesla delivered to you. Set your hotel or the address of your holiday rental as your pickup location, and after arriving at your destination, take a taxi, Uber, Lyft, or shuttle service to the vehicle’s location.

What Tesla models can I book on Turo?

Browse a wide selection of Tesla vehicles for all kinds of occasions and budgets on Turo. Use the “Vehicle makes” filter to search through all available Teslas in your area, or use the “Vehicle models” filter to find a specific Tesla like the Model 3, Model Y, Model S, or Model X. For the lowest prices, use the “budget-friendly” filter to browse economy options.

How long does it take to charge a Tesla?

Charge time for a Tesla depends on a few factors, most notably the model of Tesla, its battery capacity, and the type of charging used.

If you need to add lots of range quickly, head to a Tesla Supercharger station, Tesla-exclusive charging infrastructure that’s located in virtually all major markets and is unavailable to other battery-powered vehicles. Superchargers provide Level 3 charging (the fastest kind), which can add 200 miles of range in 15 minutes, and fill any Tesla to full capacity in under 40 minutes. If you plan your journey, mini road trip, or day trip properly, this is the way to go for a seamless experience charging your Tesla over an entire trip.

Typical charging needs can be fulfilled with the more common Level 2 charging, the type used by third-party networks (like ChargePoint and EVgo) for a price, and by any business featuring Tesla’s Destination Chargers. Level 2 charging can typically refill a Tesla overnight — figure it taking six to 12 hours. Choosing Level 2 costs less and prolongs battery life.

For the lightest needs, Teslas come with a standard cable that can plug into any common household outlet for Level 1 charging, which only adds about three miles per hour.
