A luxury SUV with a high payload capacity

With a maximum payload of around 700 kg, depending on the variant, the G-Class Wagon rivals—and even outperforms—some lower-spec vans in practicality. If you’re travelling with plenty of luggage, the wide-opening rear door and fold-down rear seats make loading and unloading a breeze. Many G-Wagon rentals also come with rear privacy glass, offering a touch of luxury while keeping your belongings out of sight. Add to that a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, and you’ve got a premium rental that’s as secure as it is stylish.

The luxury G-Wagon experience

The G-Wagon’s twin-turbo engine is made for moments when you want to turn heads, whether you’re cruising through London or heading out to the countryside. It delivers power with purpose, making a strong first impression wherever it goes. Unlike some other Mercedes designs, the G-Wagon holds its own effortlessly alongside other high-end vehicles like Bentleys, Range Rovers and even Rolls-Royces.

A true SUV ready for everything

Blending performance and prestige in one iconic design, the Mercedes-Benz G WAgon is a true SUV and built tough. Whether you hire one to take you down country roads or simply want to drive from one borough to the next, the Mercedes G-Wagon delivers. Despite its obvious style attributes and squared-off look, this nimble Mercedes is trusted around the world as a sporty vehicle that eats up rough terrain, which you'll soon discover after leaving the suburbs behind.

Stand out with a Mercedes G-Wagon hire

Hiring a Mercedes G-Wagon means making more than just a bold statement — it’s an expression of style, confidence and capability. Whether you’re navigating the streets of North or South London or turning heads in cities across the UK, the G-Wagon handles urban environments with surprising ease. But to truly appreciate everything this best-in-class luxury SUV has to offer, don’t miss the chance to take it out on the open road, where its performance, comfort and commanding presence really shine.

Bold body design

Mercedes-Benz pulled out all the stops when designing the G-Wagon. Few luxury cars come close to matching its distinctive style, featuring a blend of bold, industrial design and refined German engineering. With its flat side panels, upright silhouette, and signature details like exposed door hinges, circular headlamps, and military-inspired touches, a G-Class rental exudes a presence that’s impossible to ignore. It’s instantly recognisable and unmistakably premium, turning heads wherever it goes.

Three locking differentials

Unlike the average sport utility vehicle, which typically has just one locking differential, the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon features three. This gives it exceptional traction and unparalleled control, especially on steep or uneven terrain. It’s a major advantage in wintry conditions where snow and ice demand extra stability. Beyond its iconic design and luxury credentials, the G-Wagon delivers a genuinely capable and engaging driving experience, both on and off the road.

Superior visibility

When renting a G-Wagon, you'll immediately notice that it stands taller than most luxury vehicles in its class, and you’ll appreciate that elevated ride height the moment you get behind the wheel. Its commanding driving position, combined with an almost vertical windscreen, gives you a clear and unobstructed view of the road ahead. It’s a defining feature that reinforces the G-Wagon’s status as a true driver’s SUV built for visibility, confidence and control.

Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon driving tips

Gripping the steering wheel of a G-Wagon for the first time, you might find it feels larger than those in other high-end SUVs. But don't worry, though. Mercedes-Benz has equipped the G-Class with advanced driver assistance systems that make it remarkably easy to handle. To help you get the most out of your rental, here are a few useful G-Wagon driving tips:

- Use the cameras and sensors wisely: The G-Wagon features a panoramic camera and front and rear parking sensors, which makes tight manoeuvres much easier. That said, don’t overlook the importance of using the side mirrors, especially when you’re still getting used to the vehicle’s size and handling.

- Start in Comfort Mode: If you rent the AMG G-Wagon, keep in mind that it can be more powerful than you might expect. Putting the vehicle into ‘Comfort Mode’ softens the throttle response and offers a smoother, more manageable drive.

- Differential locks for tricky terrain: The G-Wagon’s three differential locks are what give it legendary capability, but they’re not meant for tarmac. Only use them in low-grip conditions like snowy or icy roads. Engaging the differential locks on normal roads could damage the drivetrain.

How much does it cost to rent a G-Wagon?

The cost of a G-Wagon car rental can vary depending on the model variant, booking length, extras, and delivery. For cheap G-Wagon rentals, look out for potential discounts on longer-duration bookings and early bookings.

How does a G-Wagon compare to a Range Rover?

Both are luxury SUVs, but the G-Wagon has a less refined appearance, which is something many people look for. The ride is a bit firmer in a G-Wagon, but this is offset by its more authentic SUV credentials. While some Range Rover models can seat seven, the G-Wagon can carry a maximum of five only.
