Great little car for our trip! We had no issues and pick up and drop off was easy. Just ask the host for the pick up address to find the exact house. They were very responsive. I brought a usb to usbc cord to use carplay with my iphone and had no problems. Car was delivered clean with a full tank of gas.

Without a doubt one of the best Turo experiences I've ever had. Robert was an exceptional host from start to finish, friendly, professional, responsive, and incredibly accommodating. Communication was effortless, and he made both collection and return completely seamless. The green BMW convertible was absolutely stunning. It arrived in immaculate condition, drove beautifully, and turned heads everywhere we went. Whether cruising through scenic roads or simply enjoying the top-down experience, the car made the trip truly memorable. Robert clearly takes immense pride in both his vehicle and the experience he provides. Everything was exactly as described, if not better. I wouldn't hesitate to book with him again and would highly recommend both Robert and his beautiful BMW convertible to anyone looking for a first-class Turo experience. Thank you for making our trip so special!

Great communication, great car - was running very late due to traffic, he was very kind. Would rent again!

Incredible trip. Stephen was so helpful in making sure we had smooth logistics for an extended use of his car. The car itself drove very nicely and had great fuel economy. Thanks for everything, Stephen
Car was perfect for driving around Scotland, fuel efficient and easy to drive. The host was flexible and nice to work with, a little late on the drop off and return, but he made sure we got the time back at no charge.
The car was in a good condition and the host was helpful and responsive. Would surely recommend.
Lovely car pickup and service by Derek. Everything went smooth and well. Would host again with him in the future.

Kris was very helpful, on time, and reasonable. Car was a nice drive too. Very spacious and comfortable.

Easy transaction, smooth communication, nice car.. Would definitely book again!

Perfect! Easily the best car rental I've ever had in multiple countries. I'll never rent from the big companies again. Professional and kind.

Easy pickup and great communication. Would rent this vehicle again without a problem.

Waqas was a great host. He maintained easy communication and was responsive. His car was great. It was clean, well maintained and a joy to drive!
Great experience with Shaz. He was very flexible with the collection and drop off - even dropped the keys to us the night before. The car was great, no issues at all.
Car is in great condition, we went to highlands for 3 days we didn’t get any problem , pickup location is just 10 mnts from train station ,host is good and response is quick ,absolutely recommended .
Alan and his Fiat is incredible! When I ran into tire trouble, Alan was a lifesaver and shelled in every way he could. With the small Scottish roads, you want a little car and a great host — you’ll get both with Alan :)

There’s no better way to explore Scotland’s capital city than behind the wheel of a rental car. From historic landmarks to scenic drives, Edinburgh’s got it all.
Rent the perfect car
Towering above the city from ancient Castle Rock, this iconic fortress is an unmissable stop on any Edinburgh adventure. Park nearby and wander through centuries of royal history, from the glittering Crown Jewels to dramatic exhibitions and sweeping skyline views. The perfect place to start your journey and soak in the city’s spirit.
Drive through the beautiful grounds of Holyrood Park and take the short climb up Arthur’s Seat for one of the most breathtaking views in Scotland. Gaze over Edinburgh’s rooftops, the glittering Firth of Forth, and rolling hills beyond. Whether you catch sunrise or sunset, it’s a moment of pure magic and a must for every traveller.
Stretching from mighty Edinburgh Castle to the regal gates of Holyrood Palace, the Royal Mile is a cobbled ribbon of history, charm, and lively street life. Park easily on the outskirts and stroll past cosy pubs, hidden closes, and quirky shops. It’s the beating heart of the Old Town and the perfect place to wander without a plan.
Renting with Turo gives you flexibility and freedom to explore local gems. Here’s what to keep in mind when securing a rental car in Edinburgh.
During booking, confirm a convenient pickup location close to Edinburgh Airport. Once you arrive, head directly to the designated collection point to retrieve your vehicle. The process is straightforward, flexible, and built around your schedule.
Simply return your car to the agreed spot or arrange another convenient location nearby. Leave time for handover before your flight or onward journey.
Edinburgh Airport is approximately 8 miles (13 km) from the city centre, with the drive typically taking around 20–30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
Driving in Edinburgh is generally easy, but expect narrow lanes, one-way streets, and tight corners, especially around the Old Town. If you venture into the countryside, you may encounter single-track roads, so take it slow and give way.
The weather can change quickly. Rain makes cobbles slippery, autumn leaves can hide hazards, and winter often brings icy patches. Stick to local speed limits — 30 mph in built-up areas and up to 70 mph on motorways — and you’ll be ready for a smooth Scottish drive.
City centre parking is pay-and-display and can sometimes be limited, so park-and-ride or multi-storey car parks can be handy. Free parking is common on residential streets further out, just a short walk to the city.
There are no toll roads in or around Edinburgh, making travelling by car a breeze.
You’ll find petrol stations along main routes like Glasgow Road, and EV charging points for electric cars throughout the city centre, including in shopping centres and car parks. Apps like Zap-Map help you locate easily accessible chargers on the go.
While Edinburgh has decent public transport, hiring a car gives you total flexibility to explore at your own pace, from the Highlands to the East Lothian coast.
Choose from an extensive range of cars, from a nimble Kia Picanto for cobbled streets to luxury models for smooth countryside drives.
Heading for the Highlands? A premium Land Rover Discovery Sport offers comfort and confidence on scenic routes. There’s a perfect match for every trip on Turo.
Prices vary depending on car type, booking length, extras, and delivery. For cheap car rental in Edinburgh, book in advance or go for longer rentals to unlock great value.
