If you enjoy driving rural highways with stunning views, the Apache Trail Scenic Byway is a must. 39 miles long, it winds through some of Arizona’s most beautiful country. Keep a lookout for canyons, lakes, and the Superstition Mountains.
Short but sweet, this drive starts north of downtown at the intersection of Scottsdale Road and Happy Valley Road. As you meander along, you’ll pass unique plants and desert features on your way to the awe-inspiring lookout points of Lone Mountain and Pinnacle Peak.
A longer drive, but one that’s fun and scenic, is the road to Bartlett Lake. Rolling hills, bright wildflowers, and grand mountain views all await on this winding path through the beautiful desert. You can stop at plenty of scenic overlooks and road-side restaurants along the way.
