Drive a Jeep 4x4

For the road less traveled

Whether driving in the city, sun, or snow, a Jeep is the perfect choice for anywhere your journey might take you.

Jeep’s modern models offer space and utility for your family trip, and trail-rated Jeeps have the rugged power to back up their tough-guy looks. In a Jeep you can hit the high road, low road, or any road in between in just about any condition.

All-weather performance

When the going gets tough, Jeeps keep going. With four-wheel-drive available throughout the lineup, any Jeep can instill confidence when driving through severe weather conditions, helping ensure you and your crew have a smooth vacation. Poor road conditions? No problem.

Five-seat convertible

A Jeep Wrangler makes for a wholly original way to enjoy open-top motoring with friends: it’s the only four-door, five-seat convertible SUV on the market. Along with removable doors and a folding windshield, it adds up to the purest open-air experience, and takes your scenic trip to the next level.

Jeep practicality

With a selection of SUV models ranging from compact to full-size, it’s easy to find a Jeep with ample space for multiple people and adventure gear, making for smooth family getaways to popular vacation spots like national parks.

Jeep Wrangler

The Jeep brand owes its very existence to the Wrangler, its most iconic and capable model. Robust four-wheel-drive systems, solid front and rear axles, and unique tricks like removable doors enable the Wrangler to go where other SUVs dare not tread. What’s more, the removable roof and ample back seat space allow for fun in the sun for your whole crew.

Jeep Gladiator

Essentially a pickup truck version of the Wrangler, the Gladiator blends that model’s ruggedness and off-road prowess with cavernous cargo space, thanks to its lengthened body and five-foot-long cargo bed. A strong V6 offers competitive performance and power, and the Gladiator stands alone as the only pickup that lets you go roofless on your outdoor adventure.

Jeep Grand Cherokee

If you like your family getaways with a generous serving of refinement, Jeep’s top model beckons. A quiet and refined ride, a rich set of vehicle features, and room for adults in every row make for smooth sailing on the pavement, while Jeep’s available four-wheel-drive hardware makes the Grand Cherokee a rugged vehicle that can hold its own when the going gets tough.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to rent a car on Turo?

To rent a car on Turo, you must create a Turo account, be 18 years old or older in the US, 21 years old or older in the UK, 23 years old or older in Canada, have a valid driver’s license, and get approved to drive on Turo. In France you must be 18 years old or older and have held a driver’s license for at least two years, longer for certain makes and models of vehicles. When you’re booking your first trip, you’ll go through a quick approval process by entering your driver’s license and some other information. In most cases, you’ll get approved immediately, and you’ll be set for future road trips, business trips, and family vacations!

Do I need my own insurance?

No, you don’t need personal insurance coverage to rent a car on Turo.

In the US, any personal insurance you may have that covers damage to the host’s vehicle would kick in before your protection plan, except in limited situations for trips booked in Maryland. When renting a car in the US, you’ll choose between three protection plans — Premier, Standard, or Minimum — to get the level of coverage that’s right for you. With each plan, you’re covered with third-party automobile liability insurance provided under a policy issued to Turo by Travelers Excess and Surplus Lines Company.*

In New York state, you’ll also choose between Premier, Standard, or Minimum. With each plan, you’re covered with liability insurance of $1,250,000.** Protection plans for New York trips also include access to roadside assistance, priority phone support, and 24/7 customer assistance.

When renting a car in Canada, you’ll choose between three protection plans — Premier, Standard, or Minimum — and with each plan, you’re covered with liability insurance purchased from Intact Financial Corporation in Alberta, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Quebec, and Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) in British Columbia — up to $2,000,000 for all plans.***

When renting a car in the United Kingdom, you’ll also choose between the Premier, Standard, and Minimum protection plans. Each plan includes different limits of financial responsibility for physical damage. Protection plans are not insurance; they are an agreement between Turo and guests about financial responsibility if there is damage to the host’s vehicle during a trip.

Distinct from protection plans, all trips come with third-party auto liability insurance from ERS (Syndicate 218 at Lloyd’s) managed by IQUW Syndicate Management Limited, arranged via Turo’s broker Lockton Companies LLP. IQUW and Lockton are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

How do I get discounts when renting a car?

On your Account page, make sure you’ve checked the box to receive email notifications, and enable push notifications from the Turo app in your phone settings — we’ll send you occasional promotions, discounts, and deals!

Additionally, frequent travelers in the United States can get rewarded with the loyalty bonus — earn a promo code for one bonus day when you take trips totaling 10 days in a 90-day period!**

Are there discounts on weekly or monthly trips?

Yes, many Turo hosts offer discounted prices when you book trips lasting 3+, 7+, or 30+ days. Additionally, hosts can offer “early bird” discounts for trips booked a week or more in advance. So, get the best deals and lowest rates possible by booking longer trips, at least a week in advance.

How can I drive unlimited miles during my trip on Turo?

Some hosts offer unlimited distance for a trip; others set a daily distance limit. On the vehicle pages, you’ll see the total miles or kilometres you’re allowed to drive under the heading “Distance included.” You can find cars offering unlimited mileage with every trip by using the “Unlimited distance” filter.

What payment methods does Turo accept?

Turo accepts most credit cards issued by major financial institutions, including American Express and Discover cards, as well as debit cards with a Visa or Mastercard logo that are linked to a checking account.

Apple Pay and Google Pay on mobile devices are also accepted, but Turo does not accept cash or checks as valid payment methods.

What is the cancellation policy for guests on Turo?

You can cancel and get a full refund up to 24 hours before your trip starts. If you book a trip with less than 24 hours’ notice, you have one hour after booking to cancel free of charge. If you cancel after the free cancellation period ends, you will be charged a small cancellation fee.

What are the cleaning and safety policies on Turo?

Under the enhanced cleaning policy, hosts are required to clean and disinfect their vehicles thoroughly before every trip, so you can feel safe and comfortable behind the wheel. Turo hosts have access to training materials on enhanced cleaning practices, using the latest recommendations compiled from the CDC, EPA, WHO, and vehicle detailing experts, to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Is Turo a rental car company?

No. Unlike rental car companies, Turo is a peer-to-peer car rental marketplace where you can rent directly from trusted local car owners in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and France. Turo does not own any vehicles — Turo hosts share their own personal cars and set their own prices, discounts, vehicle availability, and delivery options.

Is there a fee to add additional drivers to my trip?

There is no fee or additional charge for adding a driver to your trip on Turo. Only the guest who booked the trip (primary driver) can request to add drivers; Turo hosts cannot do it for you. We encourage you to request to add authorized drivers before your trip starts, though guests in the US and Canada can request to add a driver while a trip is in progress with no extra charges. The primary driver must be present to pick up the rental car.

To speed up the process, have your additional driver create a Turo account and get approved to drive before you request to add them. All drivers must have a valid driver’s license and meet the age requirements for the car you’ve booked. You can request to add drivers via the “Trips” tab in the Turo app without additional driver charges or extra costs.

Are there Jeeps available near the airport?

Yes, there are Jeeps available on Turo at locations near airports across the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and France. To save time and hassle, skip the airport rental car counter and have your Jeep rental delivered to you. Set your hotel or the address of your vacation rental as your pickup location, and after arriving at your destination at the airport, take a taxi, Uber, Lyft, or shuttle service to the vehicle’s location.

Use the “Vehicle makes” filter to search through all available Jeep vehicles in your area, or use the “Vehicle models” filter to find and rent a specific Jeep model like the Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Renegade, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Gladiator, and more.
