Two things were wrong.
First after returning I received a message that
“We have identified scratches on the vehicle following your trip that were not present during the pre-trip inspection. Please advise how you would like to proceed with resolving this matter.”
This felt like a shake down, a scam attempt to get me to either pay them money or to approach the dispute process at a disadvantage by apologizing etc.
I replied without admitting fault asking for documentation including where the damage was. That’s information that should have been included from the start.
-1.5 stars.
They backed down immediately when I asked for proof. But with 20,000 rentals they know better.
Also the while the instructions to find the car were pretty good, it’s still a hassle with a lot of moving posts. -.5 stars.
