The car was fine, but the host messaged me to put in premium gas, but when I went to fill up, it said 87 on the gas door. I felt mislead. Other than that it was a fine pick up and drop off.

1/5 Stars – Very Disappointing Experience
Unfortunately, what should have been a convenient rental experience turned into a frustrating one. While the vehicle itself drove well and had some nice features, the lack of communication, undisclosed requirements, and safety concerns ultimately overshadowed the positives.
Pickup instructions were not provided until I contacted the host after the scheduled pickup time, which delayed us unnecessarily. The vehicle also had a noticeable musty/smoking-like odor despite being listed as non-smoking, and it did not have the sunroof advertised in the listing.
The biggest issue was the fuel requirement. After pickup, the host informed me that premium gasoline was required, despite this not being disclosed in the original listing. More concerning, the fuel door specifically states “USE 87 REGULAR,” which directly contradicts the host’s claim. When I raised the issue, the host was unresponsive and unwilling to offer a reasonable resolution. The listing was also changed afterwards (have ming took screenshots before to confrim) to include different fuel language, so I felt like I was being scammed.
Unfortunately, the trip ended with an even more serious safety concern. We experienced a flat tire on the highway and discovered there was NO jack or lug wrench available to change it, leaving us stranded until assistance arrived. We also discovered that the front passenger-side wheel was missing a lug nut! While I don’t blame the host for the flat tire itself, failing to provide basic roadside equipment and having a missing lug nut raises serious concerns about the vehicle’s preparation and safety.
Ultimately, the vehicle itself had potential, but the poor communication, lack of transparency, unwillingness to address concerns, and apparent lack of attention to basic vehicle readiness made this a very disappointing experience. I would not rent from this host again or recommend them to others.
