Great MPG, pickup was direct near Delancey street, accessible by bart

The host was responsive, the car was clean, and the vehicle itself drove well with no issues. My frustrations were mostly with the Turo experience and pickup/dropoff process rather than the host directly.

The biggest issue was simply finding the car. The license plate was not listed in the app, and there were multiple similar Priuses parked on the street, so I was literally walking around trying door handles and looking for the key. That should not happen in a modern rental experience.

The pickup and dropoff flow also felt far too dependent on messaging the host in real time. Basic information like parking instructions, whether reserved spaces could be used, where the car could legally be returned, permit information, etc. should be clearly standardized and available before the trip begins. The app warning that hosts may respond “within 12 hours” is not reassuring when you are actively trying to pick up a vehicle for a short rental.

A lot of the friction came from many small UX issues adding up:

* non-clickable map pin/location info
* unclear pickup instructions
* missing license plate information
* excessive photo requirements for a short trip
* slow/clunky app flow during pickup and return

The open key left under the floor mat also felt surprisingly insecure for San Francisco. Turo should probably encourage or require better standardized lockbox/key handoff solutions for contactless pickup.

Overall, the host himself was helpful and responsive, but the Turo platform experience still feels unnecessarily inconsistent and stressful compared to what a car-sharing experience should be.
