Very nice for a 1998 vehicle

This car was super fun. Perfect for two people. It’s definitely an older car, but that is part of the charm and experience. Would rent it again in a heartbeat

Pavel, the owner, was accommodating and good to work with. From my perspective he gets a 4 out of 5 rating. I rate this XK8 as a 7 out of 10. It’s fun to drive and got me everywhere I wanted to go. However there are 9 maintenance issues that need attention. Especially the safety items.

Safety issues.
1 - The horn doesn’t work. .!.
2 - The dashboard lights don’t come on at night.
3 - The wiper blades leave streaks on the windsheild.
4 - The left headlight points down, greatly reducing the effective range and both headlight covers have yellowed enough to make driving at night a challenge.

There are a couple very annoying noisy issues.
5 - there is a constant whine coming from the power steering.
6 - there is an inconsistent chirping noise emanating from the dashboard.

Other indicators of poor maintenance.
7 - the “check engine” light is always on.
8 - the beverage holder doesn’t work.

Age related.
9 - the last time I opened the glove box to get the key lock box out, the handle on it broke. With a little finess it can be opened without the handle.
